CovidFit – Smoking
Smoking tobacco causes damage to the airways and lungs. If you smoke, you not only put yourself at greater risk of developing several life-threatening diseases, but those around you exposed to second-hand smoke are also at risk. The repetitive hand to mouth movement whilst smoking provides an easy route of entry for the virus, thereby putting smokers at greater risk of contracting COVID-19.
Stopping smoking allows remarkable recovery to the body. For those who find it too difficult to quit, we recommend a stepping down approach; vaping may be a preferred option to start.
