Organ Donation Week 7th-13th September 2020
Organ Donation Week is an annual campaign held in September every year; it is a great opportunity to chat with their family and let them know whether they want to donate their organs when they die.
The 2020 organ donation UK campaign is scheduled will take place as planned from Monday 7th – Sunday 13th September 2020.In light of COVID-19, stakeholders, partners, local campaigners and colleagues from the organ donation community are encouraged to support the campaign on their online and social channels.
Everyone has a choice as to whether or not they want to become an organ donor after they die, and if you choose to donate, you can choose to donate either some or all of your organs. By registering to become an organ donor you have the option to donate organs such as your heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, pancreas and small bowel.
When you register to donate your organs, you can also choose to donate your tissues, including your corneas and bone.Organ donation can greatly enhance; or even save lives.

Adwoa was diagnosed with a condition named keratoconus whilst at university. Keratoconus distorts the cornea at the front of the eye into a cone-like shape, which has a detrimental effect on a person’s vision. Adwoa received a life-changing cornea transplant that allowed her to qualify as a GP and travel the world. She says: “My transplant was a success.
