Who should have the Pfizer mRNA Vaccine?
The vaccine is recommended for all those over 80 years and those who form part of a ‘high-risk’ group. It is also recommended as part of the normal vaccination schedule for most; there are some exceptions, read more here.
Following the second recommended dose, the Pfizer vaccine has shown 95% efficacy in preventing symptomatic Covid infection and is one of the best vaccines currently available.
Administration of the vaccine will commence in stages as detailed below:

|2||All those 80 years of age and over|
|3||All those 70 years of age and over and front-line health and social care workers|
|4||Clinically extremely vulnerable individuals|
|5||All those 65 years of age and over|
|6||All individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality|
|7||All those 50 – 65 years of age|
|8||All those 12 – 50 years of age, resident in Gibraltar|
|9||All those who are cross frontier workers who are entitled to free healthcare in Gibraltar|
