Winter is Coming

The flu is incredibly easy to catch and the virus is very clever, changing all the time. Most of us (around 70%) carry the flu without symptoms we would notice. For others, it can leave you feeling awful and have you in bed for a week (or longer) with muscle aches, fever and pain. If you have a longstanding illness (such as asthma) it can cause even greater problems that could put you in hospital or intensive care on a ventilator. Please get your vaccination. Not only do you protect yourself but you can prevent the spread of flu to those who are vulnerable around you.

You don’t even need an appointment; you can pop into the Primary Care Centre between 2pm and 4pm every weekday (between Nov – March) and get seen to straight away. If you haven’t had the vaccine before make an appointment with the first available G.P to confirm you are eligible.

Flu is unpredictable and the most effective way to prevent the disease is vaccination. Learn more about the Flu and how to protect yourself and those around you:
