World Menopause Day
This annual awareness day highlights the impact of menopause on daily living, and the support options available to improve female health and well-being.
After menopause there is an increased risk of the development of chronic diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, cognitive decline, dementia and depression. This campaign examines the rationale for prevention strategies, particularly when chronic diseases are most likely to occur (approximately 10 years after menopause onset).
