For the majority of us, contracting COVID-19 will produce familiar symptoms of the common cold or flu. Those who are vulnerable, particularly the older population, may require additional healthcare support for their symptoms. There is no medication or vaccine to treat COVID-19 yet, so additional treatments for symptoms will include respiratory aids (such as oxygen therapy or ventilators).

Latest guidance indicates that the most vulnerable group are those aged over 70.

The most important thing is to STAY HOME if you suspect you are unwell, to protect yourself from further infection and to prevent spread infection to others.

If you have flu-type symptoms (including a fever, new cough or shortness of breath) try the online self test above or call 111 for guidance.
