World Immunization Week 24 – 30 April 2020
World Immunization Week, celebrated annually in the last week of April aims to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against disease. Immunization saves millions of lives every year and is widely recognized as one of the world’s most successful and cost-effective health interventions.
Routine immunization is the basis for strong, resilient health systems and universal health coverage.
The theme for 2020 is #VaccinesWork for All and the main goal of the campaign is to prompt greater engagement around immunization globally. The campaign also aims to highlight the importance of vaccination in improving health and wellbeing of everyone, everywhere throughout life.
